Financial Management Sector Leader for Central Asia, Governance, the World Bank
Arman Vatyan is a Sector Leader for Financial Management of Central Asia with the World Bank’s Europe and Central Asia (ECA) region overseeing the implementation of the regional work program and leading critical financial management initiatives in the Central Asian countries. Mr. Vatyan has more than 17 years of experience in public financial management reforms, managing a number of projects and leading initiatives to reform public internal and external audit, public sector accounting and financial reporting, corporate financial reporting, state non-commercial organizations oversight, public expenditure and financial accountability assessments in many ECA countries. He has 15 years teaching experience at Universities and at Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) courses.
Mr. Vatyan has been leading ECA Internal Audit Community of Practice of 23 countries since 2008, organized and facilitated more than 30 IACOP’s knowledge sharing events/conferences and led creation of knowledge products in the areas of internal audit, internal controls, risk assessment, state non-commercial organizations, and corporate financial reporting. Prior to joining the WB in 2003 he spent four years with KPMG providing management consulting in Public Financial Management, corporate financial reporting, corporate planning, privatization and restructuring advice, due diligence, and was in charge of information risk management auditing and knowledge management.
